Spike discovers that his chip now allows him to hurt Buffy; it seems Buffy came back wrong somehow. Willow reverts Amy to human form and the two party with magic. Buffy and Spike have sex.

In an alley, Buffy dismantles two boys that were mugging an older couple. Spike jumps in, not knowing that they're human. He ends up with a huge headache and the muggers run off. Spike brings up the kissing thing with Buffy and she tells him that she won't be kissing him again, and walks off. Willow is in her room playing with Amy. She suddenly realizes how to de-rat Amy and says an incantation that releases Amy from her rat-like state. Meanwhile Jonathan, Warren and Andrew steal a diamond from the Sunnydale museum. On the way out they freeze the security guard with a specially made gun. Back at the Summers' house; Amy feels weird now that she's human again. Willow then tells her that 3 years have passed since high school. Buffy returns home and goes up to talk to Willow. She's about to say something about Spike when Amy walks out of the washroom, surprising her. Stunned, Buffy offers to have her stay over. Hopefully Amy will readjust pretty quickly to being human again. Buffy then tells Willow to forget about what she was going to say. Downstairs, Amy is watching TV, and the news show has a story on the frozen security guard at the museun. Buffy heads out to museum to find out more but she only ends up running into Spike. Once again he brings up their kissing and she tells him that she's sorry but that she didn't mean anything more by it, but he's not cinvinced. She gets angry and hits him. He hits her back and then realizes he didn't feel any pain (though he pretends by clutching his head). She hits him again and walks off. Spike then goes into town and finds a girl. He tries to bite her but the pain in his head kicks in again.
The next day, Tara and Dawn go to a movie and Tara assures Dawn that she'll always be there for her. Dawn just hopes that she'll get back together with Willow. At the Magic Box, Buffy, Xander, Willow and Anya begin research on the frozen man at the museum. Willow pulls out her laptop and to everyone's surprise she uses magic to interface with the computer and finds the police reports. She finds out that a diamond was stolen. Over at Warren's place, the trio is admiring the diamond when Spike bursts in and orders Warren to check out the chip in his head. Under pressure, Warrens runs a couple scans on Spike's chip and finds that it's functioning fine. Spike then realizes that nothing is wrong with him, but rather with Buffy. And that maybe she didn't come back from heaven all that well.
Willow returns home and Amy suggests going out to have some fun. Though hesitant, Willow warms up to the idea and the two wiccans head out for a night on the town. They head to the Bronze where Amy gets asked out onto the dance floor. The guys starts to harass Amy so the two girls use their magic and put them in cages in skimpy costumes where they're forced to dance. They then proceed to use their magic to change things at the Bronze but they quickly grow tired and Willow wishes they had something else to do. Tara returns Dawn home and agrees to stay with her until someone comes home. At the Magic Box, Xander, Buffy and Anya are still continuing their research and are coming up empty. Xander comments that Willow has been using too much magic and they decide to keep an eye on her. Anya says that Willow has likely been a responsible person for too long and now that she's gotten a taste for the wild side of life, she's going to lose control. The phone rings and it's Spike who tells Buffy to meet him at the cemetery in 20 minutes. She hands up and doesn't go meet him.
Later on Buffy leaves the shop and runs into Spike who's pissed that she didn't show up. He won't let her pass so she hits him and he hits her back. She then realizes that he can hit her and it won't hurt him. Confused, she starts to brutally beat him while he tells her that she came back from the dead less human. She tells him he's wrong but she obviously spooked. She throws him into an abandoned apartment. They start beating on each other violently and Buffy maintains the upper hand. He tells her he's in love with her while she tells him that he's only in love with pain. After several blows, Buffy leans in and brutally kisses him. They continue kissing violently and he lifts her up and she straddles him. She reaches down and unbuttons their pants. He slides into her and she rises up and down while they kiss intensely. They continue their actions while the walls break and crash down around them. They fall through the floor and land a story down, still holding onto each other.

Buffy zu Amy: "How have you been?"
Amy: "Rat .. you?"
Buffy: "Dead."
Amy: "Hmm.."
Buffy: "But when I kissed you, you know I was thinking about Giles, right?"
Spike: "You know, I always wondered about you two."
Buffy: "What? Oh, gross, Spike! He left, I was depressed, ergo vulnerability and bad kissing decisions."
Xander: "All right, back to basics. A little old-fashioned state-of-the-art hacker action."
Buffy: "That's great, Will. I haven't seen you do that in a long time." Willow legt ihre Hände auf die Tasten und benutzt Magie, um schneller voran zu kommen. "I don't remember that part."
Andrew: "Hello? It's called knocking."
Spike: "Knock-knock, Robot Boy. You need to look at my chip."
Jonathan: Is that, like.. British slang or something? Because we're not.."
Xander: "It seems like we've been through every book."
Anya: "Yeah, even the ones that weren't so boring you wanted to kill yourself."
Xander: "We have those?"
Spike: "Don't you get it? Don't you see? You came back wrong."
